Sales & repair, under one roof
We sell watches built to be worn for decades, and we service the ones you already own — cleaning movements, replacing crystals, and fitting new straps by hand at our own bench.
Collection
Every piece we carry is chosen for how it wears in year ten, not just year one. Filter by category, add to your bag, and check out — no account required.
Repairs
These are our common jobs and typical starting prices. Every repair begins with a free inspection, so the number you're quoted is the number you pay — no surprises at pickup.
Full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, fresh lubrication, and reassembly. Recommended every 4–5 years for mechanical watches.
Same-visit swap for most quartz watches, including a fresh gasket where the case calls for one.
Scratched or cracked glass, replaced and refit to the original case tolerances.
New leather, rubber, or metal fitted and sized to your wrist while you wait.
Pressure testing plus gasket replacement, done before summer or after any case has been opened.
Dial, hand, and case refinishing for older pieces. Every restoration is quoted individually after inspection.

Book a free inspectionHow a repair runs
Bring your watch in or mail it with our prepaid label. We log its condition and photograph it before anything is opened.
Our watchmaker identifies the issue and sends a written quote. Nothing is repaired until you approve it.
Approve by email or text. You can also ask questions or request photos of the movement at this stage.
Your watch is worked on by one watchmaker start to finish, not passed between stations.
Every repair is timed across positions for several days before it's signed off.
We call or email when it's ready, and ship insured if you're not local.
About the workshop
Smatpie Watches started as a single bench and a stubborn belief: a watch is a machine, and machines can be understood, opened, and made right again. We still work that way — one watchmaker per repair, from intake to timing test.
We sell watches for the same reason we fix them: because a good mechanical piece, looked after properly, will outlast whoever buys it. Everything in our shop is chosen with that in mind, and everything we repair is treated like it's meant to be worn for another fifty years.
Notes from customers
My grandfather's watch hadn't run in years. It came back keeping time better than watches I've bought new.
— Dana R., Movement Service
They quoted me before touching anything and called when the price would've changed. That alone earned my next repair too.
— Marcus T., Crystal Replacement
Bought the Northline Diver in the shop and had a strap fitted while I waited. Wearing it every day since.
— Priya S., Watches
Mailed in a watch from three states away and got clear updates the whole time. Easier than any local shop I'd tried.
— Owen L., Full Restoration
